Testing requires a venous blood sample, with results available within 2 days. This test is priced at £46 (includes £50 phlebotomy fee).

About TPHA Testing
TPHA detects antibodies specifically directed against Treponema pallidum antigens. Once positive, TPHA typically remains positive for life, regardless of treatment. It is therefore a marker of lifetime exposure rather than current disease activity.
TPHA is often used as a confirmatory test following a positive EIA/CLIA screening result. The combination of treponemal (TPHA/EIA) and non-treponemal (RPR/VDRL) tests provides the most complete picture of syphilis status and disease activity.
