These Terms of Service apply to all patients receiving care at South Kensington Medical and Dental.

We are committed to providing high-quality private medical and dental care in accordance with the standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), General Dental Council (GDC), and General Medical Council (GMC).

1. Our Services

South Kensington Medical and Dental provides:

  • Dental Services: General dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, hygiene, and dental emergencies
  • Medical Services: Private GP consultations, health screenings, blood tests, and sexual health services

All services are provided by registered healthcare professionals regulated by the GDC (dentists, hygienists) and GMC (doctors).

2. Registration & Eligibility

  • You must provide accurate personal and medical/dental information at registration
  • You must inform us of any changes to your health, medications, or contact details
  • Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
  • We reserve the right to refuse registration or treatment where clinically appropriate

3. Appointments

Booking

  • Appointments can be booked online, by phone, or in person
  • We will send confirmation and reminders via email or SMS
  • Please arrive on time; late arrivals may result in shortened appointments

Cancellation Policy

We require at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling.

  • Late cancellations (less than 48 hours) may incur a cancellation fee
  • Missed appointments without notice may be charged at 50% of the appointment fee
  • Repeated no-shows may require advance payment for future bookings

4. Fees & Payment

  • All fees are displayed on our website and available on request
  • Payment is due at the time of treatment unless otherwise agreed
  • We accept cash, debit/credit cards, and bank transfer
  • For treatments requiring laboratory work, payment is required before work is commissioned
  • Prices may change with reasonable notice

A treatment plan with costs will be provided before any significant treatment. You will not be charged without your informed consent.

5. Consent to Treatment

In accordance with GDC and GMC standards, we obtain informed consent before any treatment:

  • You will receive a clear explanation of proposed treatment, alternatives, risks, and costs
  • Written consent may be required for certain procedures
  • You have the right to refuse or withdraw consent at any time
  • For children, consent must be given by a parent or legal guardian

6. Patient Responsibilities

As a patient, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate medical and dental history
  • Disclose all medications, allergies, and health conditions
  • Follow treatment plans and aftercare instructions
  • Attend scheduled appointments or cancel with adequate notice
  • Treat staff with courtesy and respect

Abusive, threatening, or aggressive behaviour towards staff will not be tolerated and may result in removal from our patient list.

7. Clinical Standards & Regulation

Our practice operates under:

  • Care Quality Commission (CQC): Registered and inspected healthcare provider
  • General Dental Council (GDC): All dental professionals are GDC registered
  • General Medical Council (GMC): All doctors are GMC registered

We maintain comprehensive clinical records, follow infection control protocols, and operate within professional guidelines.

8. Insurance

  • We can provide documentation for insurance claims
  • You are responsible for understanding your policy coverage
  • Payment is due regardless of insurance claim status
  • We do not guarantee that your insurer will cover any particular treatment

10. Limitation of Liability

While we strive to provide the highest standard of care, healthcare outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for outcomes beyond our reasonable control or where patients have not followed professional advice.
