Calprotectin/QFIT Profile (Combined) (QFIT) – Private Testing in London
The Calprotectin/QFIT Profile (Combined) (QFIT) is available at South Kensington Medical and Dental, our CQC-registered clinic in South Kensington, London SW7. This test is priced at £177. It requires a stool sample, and results are typically available within 5 days.
Faecal calprotectin is a protein released by neutrophils (white blood cells) in the gut wall during inflammation. It is a highly sensitive and specific marker of intestinal inflammation.
Who Should Consider the Calprotectin/QFIT Profile (Combined) (QFIT)?
Individuals with chronic abdominal pain, diarrhoea, bloating, or blood in stool where inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is suspected. Patients with known Crohn disease or ulcerative colitis monitoring disease activity or treatment response.
Calprotectin reliably distinguishes IBD from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) without invasive investigation. Levels above 200 micrograms per gram strongly suggest intestinal inflammation warranting endoscopy.
A collection kit with instructions is provided. You collect the sample at home and return it to our clinic. Our clinic is on Old Brompton Road, directly opposite South Kensington tube station (Piccadilly, Circle, and District lines). No GP referral is needed — book online or call 020 7183 2362.
